Studio Information

Our studio has been offering private music instruction for over 30 years.

​

Instruction is available on the following instruments:

  • Piano - open to students in 3rd grade through adult

  • Brass*

    • ​Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba, French Horn and Euphonium

    • Students must be 4th grade or older

  • Woodwinds* (beginning and intermediate students only)

    • Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, and Saxophone

    • Students must be 4th grade and older​

 

*We specialize in providing instruction for beginning and intermediate instrumental students who want more individualized attention as they are learning to master their instrument. We also can help students prepare for PMEA auditions and other performance opportunities.

Studio Pricing

Weekly 30 minutes lesson - $25

Weekly 45 minutes lesson - $35

Weekly 60 minutes lesson - $45

Students are responsible for providing all lesson materials. 

We require a 6 week lesson commitment

and payment for new students.

Krpata Music Instructors

Melinda Krpata - Teaches piano and all woodwind instruments.

Melinda has been teaching private piano lessons for over 35 years. She is currently the instrumental music teacher for students grades 4th through 12th at Phil-Mont Christian Academy and has been directing concert bands and jazz bands for over 20 years. She has a Bachelor's of Music degree in Music Education from Susquehanna University, a Master's of Arts in Worship Leadership from Liberty University and is currently pursuing a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Wind Conducting from Messiah University.

Andy Krpata - Teaches all Brass instruments.

Andy has a varied and interesting background in music education and performance beginning from childhood. Prior to his recent retirement as a pastor, Andy received his Bachelor's of Music degree in Music Education from Susquehanna University in 1993 and immediately enlisted in the Marine Corps band program as a tuba and trombone player. Upon honorable discharge, he taught in the North Carolina school system before entering the ministry. He holds a Master of Divinity from Evangelical School of Theology, and is currently pursuing certification as a professional life coach . He has offered instrumental lessons on and off throughout the past three decades.
